What is the best way to burn fat on my inner thighs and butt?
I weight train and exercise regularly and have been for about 7 months now but my legs still have a layer of fat that won't seem to go away, although I work them out with weights, squats and lunges.
These are common problem areas! To burn excess fat in the lower body requires a whole-body approach.
To begin with, look at how you're eating. Be sure to keep a food log for at least a week to pinpoint problem areas such as candy, alcohol, soda, and processed foods. Aim to set a gradual caloric deficit beginning with 250 calories and eventually removing 500 to 700 calories. This will ensure gradual weight loss. Remember that a properly planned and gradual weight loss is easier to maintain.
Next, fit in 30 minutes of aerobic activity at least five days a week. For optimal calorie zapping, gradually increase to 60 minutes at a time. Perform leg-intensive cardio like bike riding, stair climbing and brisk walking. At least twice a week, engage in a full body strength routine. The muscles you gain from strength training will boost your metabolism which helps to blast fat. As part of that routine, perform butt and thigh exercises such as the squat and lunge. You'll soon be happy with the results.
